Richardson: Complete Architectural Works, MIT Press, Cambridge MA 1984〕 Designed in 1885, the building was built just a few years before Bigelow's death. The house was restored and divided into five condos in the 1980s by the PBS television series ''This Old House''.〔http://www.tv.com/this-old-house/show/6174/episode_guide.html?season=2&tag=season_nav;next〕 Some of the original features, including a circular tower, have been preserved. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places at 742 Dedham Street.〔 Henry Jacob Bigelow was a well-known Boston surgeon and a professor at Harvard Medical College.
